Two of the best teams in women’s hockey will reignite their rivalry in Anaheim in February.

Team USA announced in early October that it will continue its historic rivalry with Canada when the two sides face off at the Honda Center on February 8, 2020 in the final game of the 2019-20 Rivalry Series. The game will take place as part of the Anaheim Ducks’ “We Play Weekend”, which features multiple initiatives to celebrate the girls and women’s game.

“We are excited to bring a Rivalry Series game to Anaheim,” said Katie Million, director of women’s national team programs for USA Hockey. “It’s an incredible city with a great hockey fanbase and we’re excited to have the opportunity to play in front of them and celebrate the game.”

The Rivalry Series will also feature a game between the two teams on Dec. 14 in Hartford, Connecticut. Team USA is the reigning Olympic Champion and has captured the gold medal in eight of the prior nine IIHF Women’s World Championships, many times at Canada’s expense in the final.

The Rivalry Series has featured three games thus far, with Team USA winning the opener in London, Ontario, 1-0 on February 12. Canada then won 4-3 in Toronto on February 14 and followed that up with a 2-0 win on February 17.
