2018 IESA Cheerleading Championships Drew a Crowd

Nearly 3,000 cheerleaders showcased their talents at the 17th annual Illinois Elementary School Association State Cheerleading Championships on January 20 in the Exhibit Hall of the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois.

A record tying number of schools from throughout the state were in attendance as there were 92 performances from 81 different schools.

Hickory Creek out of Frankfort won the large team routine for the third year in a row, scoring 90.33 points. Summit Hill in Frankfort was second, followed by Lincoln in Edwardsville.

Old Quarry, in Lemont, won the medium team routine with a score of 87.63 while Paris, in Crestwood, prevailed in the small team routine.

Dunlap finished first for the second consecutive year in the large team cheer with a score of 77.68, beating runner-up Macomb. Minooka won the small team cheer for the second straight year with a score of 78.45. Farmington Central was second.
