Corpus Christi Bay

Corpus Christi Bay is a saltwater estuary and one of the few natural harbors on the Texas coast. American Bank Center

Sports Covered: Indoor Multipurpose

The American Bank Center is Corpus Christi’s premier venue for a wide range of events, including conventions, sports, concerts, and the performing arts. The complex encompasses a state-of-the-art convention center, the 10,500-seat American Bank Center Arena, and the 2,526-seat American Bank Center Selena Auditorium. The Convention Center provides ample room across over 138,000 square feet of space to accommodate various events, with the ability to divide into 10 separate ballrooms.

H-E-B Tennis Center

The impressive H-E-B Tennis Center offers the ultimate tennis experience with a total of 25 lighted Laykold courts, 22 outdoor and three covered, ensuring ample playing space for enthusiasts of all levels. The center can accommodate hundreds of fans and offers unique viewing areas with two raised platforms that allow spectators to watch.

Cabaniss Fields

Cabaniss Athletic Complex, also known as Cabaniss Fields, hosts a variety of sports and events throughout the year. Situated in the Southside area of Corpus Christi, teams from all over utilize Cabaniss for state tournaments and games, including area high schools in Corpus Christi.

Corpus Christi ISD Natatorium

Sports Covered: Swimming, Diving

This Olympic-style pool facility is designed for hosting competitive swim meets, but is also used for Corpus Christi ISD swimming and diving. The ADA-compliant facility includes two main pools. The first is a 50×25-yard competition pool that ranges from 6-14 feet deep, with a tiled pool floor, a bulkhead set at 25 yards, and eight lanes.  This pool also contains two 3-meter and three 1-meter diving boards and a swimming pool lift.

The second pool is a 25-yard instructional pool that slopes down to 4 feet which could be used as a warmup or cool down pool. With its state-of-the-art pools and amenities, this unique indoor swimming experience is perfect for competition swimming.

McGee Beach of Corpus Christi

Sports Covered: Volleyball, Soccer, Rugby, Lacrosse, Basketball, Watersports

Seaweed-free and manicured McGee Beach is a slice of paradise for sports of all kinds, accommodating nine courts for sports such as beach volleyball and soccer on its soft white sands overlooking the Corpus Christi Bay. Just a few steps from the beach is Islander Pavillion, a covered basketball court, along with a spacious paved parking lot and rest area. The rest area is shaded and includes restrooms, picnic tables and electrical hookups for food trucks, live music or presenters. On the north side of the park, you’ll find The Great Lawn, a green space that can accommodate a variety of field sports like rugby, lacrosse and more.

Whataburger Field

Sports Covered: Baseball

Named for the iconic Texas burger franchise started in Corpus Christi, Whataburger Field is home to the Corpus Christi Hooks, the AA affiliate of the Houston Astros. The ballpark occupies land once dominated by cotton warehouses at the Port and features architectural attributes paying tribute to the site’s heritage. This multipurpose facility also plays host to top-flight special events year-round and has been the site of premier concerts. It is also the perfect venue for conferences, weddings and parties.

Bill Witt Park

Sports Covered: Baseball, soccer, flag football

Located on Corpus Christi’s Southside, Bill Witt Park has served as the venue for countless Little League and soccer games, making this regional park a long-time favorite of sports enthusiasts and families. This ADA-compliant park has 12 regulation-sized, natural grass fields, two of which are lit, and four baseball fields. It is a diverse venue for athletes of all interests and skill levels, and includes a large playground, an inviting trail for hiking, biking or walking, a splash pad, a gazebo, an amphitheater and a pavilion so athletes can enjoy an active and engaging experience.
