USA Track & Field announced the 2018 USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships will be held June 21-24 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

The five-day event will bring 1,000 of the best track and field athletes from across the country to compete for the American title. This is the third time Catch Des Moines has hosted this event, which was previously held in Des Moines in 2010 and 2013.

“We are thrilled to have the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships back in Des Moines,” said Greg Edwards, president and CEO of Catch Des Moines. “We have a strong resume of supporting and executing high profile track and field events. Not only does this allow us the opportunity to host visitors from across the country, but it also gives the community the opportunity to watch former and future Olympians compete at the classic Blue Oval.”

“It’s always exciting to bring world class athletes to the Blue Oval and this announcement is another step in identifying Des Moines as a track and field destination,” said Blake Boldon, director of the Drake Relays.

More than 200 volunteers will be needed to help ensure the success of the 2018 USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships. The public is encouraged to sign up for this volunteer opportunity by contacting Laura Briggs at laurab@catchdesmoines.com. More information about the championships will continue to be added to usatf.org.
