Located in Merrillville, Indiana, Dean and Barbara White Community Center is a dynamic hub for recreation, wellness and community gatherings. Opened in 2019, the two-story, 88,000-square-foot facility features a large gymnasium with three basketball courts that can convert into six for volleyball. An elevated track and concessions stand with seating are above the gymnasium. A climbing wall for bouldering and a fully equipped fitness center add to its athletic versatility.
Dean and Barbara White Community Center also houses the Merrillville Parks Department offices and collaborative spaces designed to support programming and operations. These spaces include 3 breakout rooms and the multipurpose event center, which can be utilized as one large space or sectioned off into three individual spaces. Outside, visitors will find a landscaped patio area and Weiss Field, a large multipurpose sports field for outdoor sports, events and activities.
