Garrett County is home to Maryland’s only ski resort and the location of Deep Creek Lake, the state’s largest man-made lake. A recent emphasis on infrastructure has created over 15 new miles of single- track trails. The county’s seven state parks have diverse landscapes and activities on offer, from fishing at the mouth of the Savage River at Big Run State Park to ORV at the 2,039-acre Wolf Den Run State Park near Kitzmiller.
