The Longleaf Trace is South Mississippi’s premier running, biking, hiking and equestrian trail. It is a beautiful linear park, 44 miles long and fairly flat, extending from Downtown Hattiesburg through Sumrall, Bassfield and Carson to Prentiss. The trail is 10 feet wide and paved with asphalt, making it simple and enjoyable to navigate.

A self-proclaimed junk shop spanning over two buildings, The Lucky Rabbit features a variety of vendors who specialize in vintage, collectible, antique, nostalgia and handmade items. For tv and movie enthusiasts, The Lucky Rabbit recreates popular television and movie sets as free photo ops in the store.

Tatum Park Sports Complex

Sports Covered: Soccer

Tatum Park Sports Complex is Hattiesburg’s largest sports complex, offering a variety of facilities in one, convenient location. The Southeast’s highest number of soccer fields in one place can be found here, with 18 flat fields, including two brand-new championship level fields. There are also 9 youth baseball diamonds onsite with recessed dugouts, lighting, and permanent covered seating, along with four softball fields, 12 tennis courts, an 18-hole disc golf course, and multiple practice fields. Thousands of parking spaces, numerous concession stands, ample restrooms, a pavilion, and two playgrounds round out this diverse complex.

Jaycee Park

Jaycee Park was completely remodeled in 2023 and features 2 diamonds complete with turf infield and sand base outfields with an under-drain system for quick play in the instance of a rain event. An attractive entrance, permanent concession stands, modern restrooms, on-site parking, and all amenities needed to host a tournament make it one of Mississippi’s most desirable new complexes.

University of Southern Mississippi facilities

Sports Covered: Basketball, volleyball, baseball

The University of Southern Mississippi offers world-class collegiate facilities conventionally located within driving distance to much of the Gulf South. Reed Green Coliseum features a full basketball hardwood court or two regulation volleyball courts that seats 8,095 fans complete with scoreboard, PA system, locker rooms, permanent concessions, and two auxiliary meeting rooms. Pete Taylor Park has hosted tournaments of all sizes on its artificial turf baseball diamond, with seating for up to 6,300, video board, locker rooms, concessions, and auxiliary meeting space. M.M. Roberts Stadium is a football arena that features premium artificial turf, seating for 36,000, video board, locker rooms, concessions, and auxiliary meeting space. There is ample parking on this D1 campus to accommodate a variety of events.
