Denny Sanford PREMIER Center

Sports Covered: Basketball, Volleyball, Wrestling

The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center is a behemoth sports center offering sizeable event space throughout three facilities, the largest of its kind in the region. At the PREMIER Center, enjoy group discounts and seating for 12,000 guests. Four expansive levels comprise the site, which includes the event level, concourse level, suites level and the upper concourse level. Attached to the Events Center is a 71,000-square-foot multipurpose Convention Center that can be used for receptions, conventions, trade show luncheons, or several other uses. This includes a 16,800-square-foot ballroom and 13 breakout rooms. Those wishing to use the Center are offered on-site audio/visual services along with staging and sound professionals. It’s also conveniently attached to the 243-room Sheraton Hotel, and Sioux Falls Arena. Decades of music and sporting events have been wowing crowds at the 7,000-square-foot Arena. Past fan favorites include performances from Elvis Presley and Elton John. Previous sporting events include college and high school basketball, volleyball and wrestling tournaments.

The Sanford Sports Complex covers a massive 500 acres in Sioux Falls providing sports venues for volleyball, basketball, tennis, hockey, football, soccer, golf, gymnastics, baseball and softball. Three different areas make up the complex. An immense 85,000 square foot Sanford Fieldhouse boasts 62,000 square feet of Field Turf, four indoor full-size soccer fields and two locker rooms. Play a match or hold an event at the Sanford Pentagon with 160,000 square feet of space. Event participants can access amenities like nine collegiate and high school-size courts, suites, a lounge, concession areas, athletic training rooms, meetings and activities rooms and seating for over 3,000 people. The Sanford Crossing incorporates eight synthetic turf fields for multipurpose uses. Baseball and softball are played on the Sanford Diamonds consisting of ten Field Turf fields with bullpens and digital scoreboards. Sixty acres contain the SD Junior Football Fields, while 11 acres house three full-size indoor ice rinks in the SCHEELS IcePlex. Additionally, tennis matches are hosted at the Match Pointe Tennis Centre, offering six championship courts covered by 40-foot-high ceilings.

Harmodon Park

Harmodon Park is a 15-field facility for youth and adult baseball and softball players. Amenities include five batting cages, picnic shelters, a playground, bleachers, concessions, a pitching machine, scoreboards, locker rooms, ample free parking and restrooms. All fields are fenced in to allow multiple games to be played simultaneously.

Sherman Park

Sports Covered: Softball, Hockey (winter), Ice Skating (winter)

Sherman Park comprises 205 acres with nine agri-limed and lighted softball diamonds. It’s also home to the South Dakota Softball Hall of Fame. Visitors can discover the Indian Burial Mounds, the Great Plains Zoo, and the U.S.S. South Dakota Battleship Memorial while here. The park also includes a children’s play area, open green space, a wedding gazebo, and winter ice skating and hockey games.

Yankton Trail Park

Once the Dakota Territory capital and an area where early settlers crossed the Big Sioux River, Yankton Trail Park is the place for soccer. All levels of play happen on 21 fields, perfect for large-scale tournaments. Past tournaments include the U.S. Youth Regionals and South Dakota State High School Tournaments.

Midco Aquatic Center

The Midco Aquatic Center is the ultimate playground for swimmers and water play. Located in Spellerberg Park, Midco boasts three pools, locker and changing rooms, concessions and meeting/party rooms. Open year-round, the indoor water park and sports center offers a 50-meter Olympic size pool equipped with two bulkheads allowing multiple activities to occur at once. Enjoy a leisurely swim in the Recreational Pool or Warm Water Pool. The unique Current Channel challenges and trains swimmers while water slides, lily pad crossings and splash pads entertain younger wave makers.
