Surrey offers modern, world-class facilities, including aquatic centres, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, ice hockey rinks, tennis and pickleball courts. These have been home to countless successful tournaments and sporting events, from the annual Canada Cup International Championships, which welcomed 125 teams from around the world in 2023, to the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series, the Water Polo Western Nationals and the Provincial Diving Championships. Surrey Sport and Leisure Centre
Sports Covered: Ice hockey, figure skating, indoor events
This state-of-the-art multipurpose facility offers three full-sized rinks that are also equipped for sledge hockey events. With that much ice, it’s no surprise that Surrey Sport and Leisure Centre is popular for hosting provincial skating events and many Fraser Valley hockey tournaments. In addition to the ice, the facility also has a weight room, fitness studio, pool and more for athletes, family members and the community as a whole to enjoy.
South Surrey Arena
Sports Covered: Indoor multipurpose
Offering 20,000 feet of exhibit space, multipurpose rooms and plentiful parking, South Surrey Arena’s Olympic-sized rink is perhaps its best feature. The high-quality rink, which is home to junior hockey’s Surrey Eagles, allows for 1,200 seated spectators. The arena’s close proximity to an athletic park and the South Surrey Recreation Centre provide gymnasiums, fitness studios, child-minding services and more.
Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre
Sports Covered: Swimming, diving, water polo
This award-winning facility’s LEED-certified, 50m FINA-standard Olympic size competition pool was constructed with regional, provincial, national and international sport hosting events in mind, featuring ten lanes and a full set of dive towers up to a height of ten meters. Along with the competition pool and weight and cardio rooms, the Aquatic Centre also features two 500-square-meter leisure and lifestyle pools, equipped with a lazy river, waterslide and tot’s area.
Softball City, Surrey
Sports Covered: Softball
Located next to South Surrey Athletic Park and the Recreation Centre, Softball City is a premier outdoor facility for softball tournaments. With its four championship-caliber diamonds with seating for over 1,500 spectators, a fully licensed Sports Grill with outdoor 232-capacity patio overlooking the action, separate umpire facilities, batting cages, pro shop and plentiful parking, it’s no wonder Softball City is a go-to for tournaments of any size.
Guildford Aquatic Centre
Sports Covered: Swimming, water polo
Guildford Aquatic Centre was built to complement the Guildford Recreation Centre and its existing fitness facilities. Opened in 2015, the Aquatic Centre features a eight-lane, 50-meter FINA-standard Olympic size competition pool, and can host regional, provincial, national and international sporting events. Spectator seating is maxed at 300. There is an additional leisure pool for community use, which can also be beneficial for families traveling with athletes.
Surrey Tennis Centre
Sports Covered: Tennis
Located along King George Boulevard, near the heart of the city at Highway 10 for easy access to accommodations, restaurants and entertainment, Surrey Tennis Centre is a premier venue and ideal for hosting tournaments on any scale. Along with a pro shop and gym designed specifically for tennis training, the Centre also holds some of the only red clay courts in all of Western Canada. The on-site Tennis Academy for player development and coaching will help athletes achieve their full potential through various training initiatives and competition support.
Cloverdale Fairgrounds
Sports Covered: Indoor and outdoor multipurpose
Located in the quaint Cloverdale neighborhood of Surrey, the Cloverdale Fairgrounds are split into three unique facilities able to meet a variety of needs.
The Agriplex is a 22,000-square-foot indoor complex capable of hosting just about any event, from indoor sports to tradeshows and more.
The Stetson Bowl is an enormous, 100,000-square-foot outdoor facility famous for hosting rodeos, but is certainly more than capable of hosting different types of outdoor sporting events with covered seating for up to 4,000.
The Alice McKay Building may be the smallest of the trio at 7,000-square-feet and seating for 600, but its space is perfect for smaller tournaments and events, as well as additional space for the largest ones when things become too crowded at the other two facilities.
