FORT MYERS, Fla. (Dec. 1, 2016) – Lee County will serve as the host of the annual U.S. Sports Congress, taking place Monday, Dec. 5, through Wednesday, Dec. 7, at Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa in south Fort Myers. The three-day event will feature a variety of workshops and roundtable discussions, along with presentations from leaders within the industry. Speakers will include Dave St. Peter, president of the Minnesota Twins; Robert Mitchell, retired CEO and executive director, USA Shooting; and Ron Seaver, founder and president of the National Sports Forum. Attendees will network and enjoy outings that highlight Lee County as a top-notch sports-tourism destination

The U.S. Sports Congress serves as a resource for professionals within the sporting event industry. Now entering its 10th year, the U.S. Sports Congress holds a reputation for attracting top-level decision makers from the world of amateur sports. Attendees will include about 40 senior-level executives who represent sport governing bodies, along with representatives of the destinations that desire to host their events as well as industry suppliers. The governing bodies represent tens of thousands of amateur athletes who participate in their programs.
