Rocky Top Sports World, a state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor sports campus in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, has become a major destination for sports teams and youth sporting events and tournaments in the Southeast region.
Thus, it’s no surprise Rocky Top has been awarded hosting privileges for the 2018 5th Grade Girls Basketball National Championship, which will be held from July 10 – 15.
More than 60 teams from across the nation are expected to participate in the week-long event including opening ceremonies and five days of competition.
“The bidding process for national tournaments is competitive, so we are fortunate to host a prestigious AAU tournament,” said Lori Moore, Rocky Top Sports World general manager. “Our world-class facility, paired with the great local lodging, dining, and attractions, makes this a desirable destination for multi-day events. We are excited to welcome each of the teams that will be coming from across the country to participate in this event.”
Teams must qualify under AAU Qualifying Procedures for the three divisions available according to playing level. Early bird registration pricing is available through May 1st with a final registration deadline of June 19. Rocky Top Sports World is also offering discounted hotel and cabin options for registered teams through PSE Event Housing.
