Denver Sports Venues

The Mile High City is the perfect blend of urban class and outdoor grit. The downtown area is packed with cultural and educational attractions, as well as dozens of facilities suitable to host any number of sports tournaments. Denver welcomes all sports teams to its borders, providing reasonably priced hotel accommodations with immaculate views of the mountains, along with helpful professionals to assist in any planning needs.

Bladium Sports and Fitness Club is located on the old Stapleton Airport property, minutes from downtown and 45 minutes from the airport. This 53,000-square-foot sports venue includes an inline hockey rink, indoor soccer arena, basketball and volleyball courts and a fitness center.

Dick’s Sporting Goods Park is a state-of-the-art stadium and field complex. The main arena is home to Major League Soccer’s Colorado Rapids and seats 18,000 spectators. It is surrounded by 24 full-size, fully lit sports fields, 22 of which are natural grass and two that are synthetic turf. The grass fields can be rented for public use from April to November, and the turf fields are available year round. Each field is built to host a regulation soccer match, but can be configured to meet any sports tournaments requirements or specifications.

Right off I-25, just a few minutes from downtown, is the University of Denver, home to the Pioneers. The Ritchie Center is the college’s elite athletic hub, and features many different facilities within the complex. Sports events can be held outside in Barton Stadium, which hosts lacrosse, soccer, flag football and field hockey games. Inside, sports teams will find an Olympic-size pool in the El Pomar Natatorium and a professional level hockey rink in Magness Arena. The center is also equipped with indoor courts for basketball and volleyball.

Infinity Park, located in the Glendale neighborhood, was built to accommodate junior and amateur league rugby matches. It is home to the Glendale Raptors rugby team. The stadium seats 5,000 spectators and regularly hosts USA Rugby national championship matches. It also features a 35,000-square-foot recreation and sports center, operated by the YMCA of Denver. Boulder Sports Facilities

A little less than an hour northwest of Denver, Boulder boasts some of the best recreational activities and events in Colorado. Visited frequently by avid outdoor enthusiasts, Boulder has become a highly sought after location for sports events and tournaments.

The University of Colorado features a handful of top athletic facilities. Folsom Field, home to the Colorado Buffaloes football team, is one of the most legendary sites on the campus. Other venues on the campus include the Balch Fieldhouse for indoor track and field events and the Coors Events Conference Center, which seats 11,064 people for basketball games.

Pleasant View Fields Sports Complex features nine soccer and rugby fields and has been the location of many local, national and international tournaments. There is plenty of open space to set up booths, bleachers and other necessities for a number of outdoor sports events.

For some baseball or softball action, there are two great options in town. Mapleton Ball Fields features three lighted diamonds. Many softball, baseball and kickball leagues compete at this sports venue. Gerald Stazio Softball Fields offers seven lighted fields, a playground and picnic area. It has hosted the Men’s A National Fastpitch Championship and the annual Louisville Slugger Independence Day Girls Fastpitch Softball Tournament.

Fort Collins Sports Venues

Nestled amid the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Fort Collins offers a dynamic array of attraction, historical sites and recreational activities. The city is a popular spot in northern Colorado for sports events and tournaments. Not only does it have a world-class university with a number of quality sports venues, but it also features a natural terrain that begs to be explored by athletes and adventurers.

The Budweiser Events Center, located at Crossroads Boulevard and I-25, is home to the Colorado Eagles, the city’s Amateur Hockey League team. The arena is part of the Fairgrounds and Events Complex in Fort Collins, and hosts a variety of sports events and concerts. It can seat approximately 5,289 fans for a hockey match.

Racquet Complex is home to the Lewis Tennis School, which offers tennis lessons and playing opportunities for the community. The sports facility features eight lighted tennis courts, three outdoor handball or racquetball courts, two platform tennis courts and a sand volleyball playing area. The venues hosts many USTA sanctioned tournaments, and is more than accommodating when it comes to putting on events for novice, intermediate or advanced players.

Colorado Springs Attracts Event Planners

Located in South-Central Colorado just 61 miles from Denver, Colorado Springs is the focal point of El Paso County, offering a variety of fun attractions, historical sites, cultural events and athletic activities. Colorado Springs sits at the base of Pikes Peak, one of the most famous mountains in America for both its role in the Gold Rush and its current recreational allure. The U.S. Olympic Complex is the headquarters for the U.S. Olympic Committee administration and the Training Center programs. If sports planners choose to host their event at this venue, the USOC can provide housing and dining for over 500 coaches and players. Inside the complex, you will find the 45,000-square-foot aquatic center, which features a 50-meter pool, with 10 lanes. Sports Center I is a multi-sport facility that contains six gyms that can accommodate 14 different sports. Sport Center II consists of 54,000 square feet of training space and can accommodate nine different sports.

Security Service Field is a professional baseball stadium and is home to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, AAA-level affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.  It also plays host to the amateur soccer club Colorado Springs Blizzard. It seats 8,500 for baseball, but can be expanded to 10,000 for other events.

The World Arena is an 8,000-seat multi-purpose sports facility in Colorado Springs. It can be configured to suit a number of sports tournaments, including basketball, volleyball, wrestling and boxing. Adjacent to the arena is the Ice Hall, which contains two practice rinks, one NHL-sized and one Olympic sized. The hall is used by the Colorado College Tiger’s men’s hockey team, Broadmoor Skating Club and Colorado Gold Speedskating Club.

El Pomar Youth Sports Complex is a 58-acre park dedicated to youth sports in Colorado Springs. It features 18 playing fields, nine baseball/softball fields, eight natural grass soccer/lacrosse fields, one championship size artificial turf field, seven batting cages and an in-line hockey rink. Sports planners can use the extra green space to set up seating, tournament headquarters and special booths for sign-ups, retail and refreshments.
