Alumni Gymnasium at Hamilton College in NY

Alumni Gymnasium at Hamilton College

Clinton, NY

Hamilton College has it all when it comes to sports, making it one of the best all-round locations in the region for tournaments. Alumni Gymnasium in particular was built in 1940 and was renovated in 1978 and houses office space for coaches and administrators, as well as locker rooms and meeting facilities.

Little Squash Center in New York

Little Squash Center at Hamilton College

Clinton, NY

This $6.1 million facility was completed in 2006 and features 10 regulation-size squash courts, two of which have seating, making it a perfect venue to host a squash tournament or event. The facility also has two team locker rooms.

Margaret Bundy Scott Field House in New York

Clinton, NY

Margaret Bundy Scott Field House is home to Hamilton College’s Men’s and Women’s basketball and volleyball teams, as well as the indoor home to the track team. In addition to the court and track, the field house also has a 3,400 square foot athletic training clinic.

Sage Rink-Delaney Team Center in NY

The nation’s second oldest college ice arena is home to the Hamilton College’s Men’s and Women’s hockey teams. Originally constructed in 1921, the rink currently seats 600 and a 5,100-square-foot addition was completed in 2015 which added multiple locker rooms for Hamilton’s teams.

Home to the AHL’s Utica Comets and MASL’s Utica City FC, the historic Adirondack Bank Center features a capacity of up to 5,700 for floor events with 4,500 for basketball and 3,860 for ice hockey and indoor soccer. Being connected via a walkway to Utica University Nexus Center, this provides an additional fourth playing surface for sports tournaments and events. This combo of premier playing surfaces made it an easy choice to host the 2024 IIHF Women’s World Championship—arguably the biggest global tournament in women’s ice hockey.

Conveniently located off the New York State Thruway in Utica, NY, close to the heart of the downtown area, Utica University Nexus Center is a 169,440-square-foot facility featuring state-of-the-art amenities. Home to the Utica University Women’s hockey team and Junior Comets youth programs, Mastrovito Hyundai rink is the standout at the center with 1,200 seats including several luxury boxes. In total, the center has three playing surfaces, all of which can be converted from ice sheets to turf for multiple indoor sports.

Located on the Utica University campus, Hutton Sports and Recreation Center is the second largest domed sports facility in North America. The facility features an NCAA competition indoor track, multipurpose courts, a turf practice field, a weight area and more.

Harold T. Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium in NY

Utica, NY

Home to Utica University’s Men’s and Women’s basketball and volleyball teams, as well as the Wellness and Adventure Education program, Harold T. Clark Athletic Center Gymnasium features three full-length courts, a seating capacity of 2,200, a state of the art video scorers table, new bleachers, a high ropes course and a zip line.

SUNY Poly is home to several sports facilities, located just north of Downtown Utica. The on-site Wildcat Field House has a multi-purpose gym area, with a 1/10-mile track, two regulation basketball courts, four volleyball courts, four tennis courts and two large batting cages.

Home to SUNY Poly Wildcats basketball, the Campus Center Gym opened its doors in 1987 and most recently underwent a renovation in 2016. With its running track and adaptability, the gym can also be utilized for racquetball, volleyball and other sports. It also includes an athletic training room and locker room facilities.

Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) has two campus locations, one in Rome and another in Utica, but it’s the Utica location that is home to Hawks sports. Jorgensen Athletic Center features a performance gymnasium with seating for 750. There are three athletic courts and an indoor track within the Field House. Mike Briggs Fitness Center has your athletic and strength-training needs covered, as well as featuring handball-racquetball courts and a six-lane indoor swimming pool.

Elevate CNY Sports Complex stands tall with a total of 60,000 square feet of space. The complex is home to six youth sports leagues, utilizing its two large fields, measuring at 190’ x 85’, and a small field at 100’ x 60’, for sports like soccer and football. Also on-site are two battings cages, two pitching mounds, a meeting room and more. Outside, the complex has 23 acres of additional space with access to wetlands, the Tim Reid Memorial Trail and other outdoor adventures.

As a top-notch choice to practice and play every day, Accelerate Sports Facility has a strong focus on community while also providing state-of-the-art playing surfaces for tournaments and events of all sizes. Along with its 300’ x 150’ turf field, the center also features three multipurpose courts that are perfect for basketball, volleyball, tennis and more. Also on-site you’ll find the SPI Athlete Performance Training Center, TRACKMAN golf simulator, a fitness training center for members, an elevated track, a performance food center and smoothie bar and more.

Creating a university-town vibe in the City of Newark, the University of Delaware has multiple facilities for dozens of sports. Delaware Stadium in particular is home to Fightin’ Blue Hens football and lacrosse, sporting a capacity of 22,000 after state-of-the-art renovations.

This facility is home to University of Delaware’s NCAA Men’s and Women’s basketball and volleyball teams. The Bob Carpenter Center features an arena, practice courts, multiple sports locker rooms, offices, conference rooms, weight room and athletic training rooms.

The Field House has a 70-yard indoor turf field with seating for around 500 people. It also has dropdown batting cages and soccer goals and is home to multiple team locker rooms and coaches offices. In sustainability efforts, half of the field house’s roof is lined with solar panels.

Fred Rust Ice Arena offers something for everyone when it comes to sporting events, including public skating sessions. The arena is a regular venue for hosting hockey tournaments and Figure Skating events of all levels.

As the name suggests, Chase Center on the Riverfront offers scenic views of the Christina River that flows through the City of Wilmington. Chase Center has over 70,000 square feet of space, including two ballrooms and a 20,000-square-foot exhibit hall for conferences, trade shows and of course indoor sporting events. The center has plenty of history as well, originally being used as a shipbuilding facility during WWII before being transformed into its modern state.

The 161,000-square-foot Chase Fieldhouse is home to the 76ers’ G League team the Delaware Blue Coats. The enormous facility houses three full-size NBA courts, which can be converted into a 2,500-seat arena and six smaller courts for volleyball and futsal, an indoor 100 x 70 yard turf field and three outdoor turf fields. Chase Fieldhouse also houses a Nemours PT Clinic and Titus Sports Academy, an elite program for athlete development.

While Providence has no shortage of impressive sporting venues, the Amica Mutual Pavilion (AMP PVD) stands out as the destination for sports in Rhode Island. The AMP PVD features a 31,000-square-foot arena floor and a 25,000-square-foot concourse and can house up to 13,000 spectators. The arena underwent an $80-million renovation in recent years and has played host to major tournaments such as the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. As an added bonus, the AMP PVD is perfect for event planning, as it connects directly to the Rhode Island Convention Center and the adjacent Omni Providence hotel.

If you’re looking for space, and lots of it, look no further than the Rhode Island Convention Center. Inside you’ll find a 100,000-square-foot exhibition hall, a 20,000-square-foot grand ballroom and 23 multipurpose meeting rooms. For added convenience, visitors can connect directly from the RICC to the Omni Providence hotel and Providence Place mall. Over the years, the RICC has hosted major events in cheerleading, dance, roller derby and much more, so the sky’s the limit when planning your next event.

This school is home to some of Providence’s most state-of-the-art athletic facilities, and offers seating for around 1,800 people in a 65,000-square-foot fieldhouse. Inside the gorgeous steel and glass building you will find space and amenities for sporting events such as track and field meets, basketball games and tournaments, cheerleading competitions and much more—all just steps from the center of downtown.

Virginia Indoor Sports Facilities

Fredericksburg Convention Center in Virginia

Fredericksburg Convention Center is a 110,000-square-foot facility capable of hosting a variety of sports events including fencing, gymnastics, drone competitions, volleyball, basketball, wrestling and much more for up to 3,400 attendees. Exhibit Hall A & B combined are 80,000 square feet with 60-foot-wide distances between columns. The center offers a total of 11 meeting rooms and the Ballroom divides into six separate sections and comfortably accommodates up to 700 guests.

Henrico Sports & Events Center in Virginia

Henrico County’s new $50 million indoor sports and event center opened in November 2023. Located at Virginia Center Commons in Glen Allen, the 115,000-square-foot center features an adaptable event space with room for up to 12 regulation basketball courts or 24 volleyball courts and an arena with stadium seating for over 3,500. The center also includes a mezzanine level with viewing areas, multiple entrances and exits, meeting and changing rooms, vendor and concessions areas and a broadcast room, among other amenities.

Boo Williams Sportsplex in Virginia

Boo Williams Sportsplex can host a variety of athletic events including, basketball, bodybuilding, boxing, cheerleading, fencing, gymnastics, indoor track, martial arts, table tennis, team handball volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling. The center features eight hard-wood basketball courts with floor to ceiling dividers, 12 volleyball courts, 200-meter, six-lane IAFF-certified synthetic surface indoor track, 25’ ceiling height and retractable bleacher seating for 4,000.

Boasting 35 flexible event spaces with the capacity for up to 14,000 delegates, as well as a 102,600-square-foot exhibit hall (divisible by three), the Hampton Roads Convention Center is the perfect venue for any indoor athletic event. Over 2,700 hotel rooms in close proximity, including an award-winning Embassy Suites hotel, support the center.

One of the most recognizable architectural jewels in all of Hampton Roads, Hampton Coliseum is set on 75 acres adjacent to the Hampton Roads Convention Center. The venue opened in 1970 as the first large multipurpose arena in the Hampton Roads region and the state of Virginia. With a 120’ x 240’ arena floor, 84,000 square feet of exhibit space, NCAA spec sports lights with pre-set focus and scalable seating capacities from 3,000-12,800, the Hampton Coliseum is a great venue to host any type of indoor sporting event.

Located on the Hampton University campus, the HU Convocation Center has been hosting athletic events since 1993. Accommodating such indoor sports as basketball, cheerleading, fencing, boxing, karate and wrestling, the center boasts a 14,112-square-foot exhibition floor and ample stadium seating for 7,200 attendees. Other amenities include a press room, two meeting rooms, a loading dock, dressing rooms and two concession stands.

Ion International Training Center in Virginia

Leesburg, VA

This 90,000-square-foot facility in Loudoun County features two NHL ice sheets, including a 3,500-seat area in addition to a full-service gym, café, pro shop, medical room and hockey training room, among other amenities. Ion International annually hosts several MYHockey Tournaments and was the site of the 2022 US Figure Skating Championship Series presented by Toyota. The center, with nearly 1,000 parking spaces, has room to expand to four ice sheets on the 16.5-acre site.

Liberty Indoor Track & Field Complex in Virginia

Lynchburg, VA

This 169,000-square-foot facility features a dynamic track, which is one of only a handful of tracks in the country to offer a six-lane, 20-meter hydraulically banked oval. The complex is 425’ long by 300’ wide and includes room for all six field events, with the weight throw, shot put and high jump pits located outside the track oval.

Teams will feel like champions no matter what the score at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, located only minutes from Richmond International Airport. The 700,000-square-foot facility boasts the title as largest convention center in Virginia with 180,000 square feet of exhibit hall space that can be transformed to accommodate all types of indoor sporting events and tournaments.

Berglund Center is one of western Virginia’s Blue Ridge’s premier full-service facilities. The multipurpose facility can accommodate sporting events of all sizes, and hosts more than 350 events annually. It features a 10,500-seat coliseum, 2,148 seat performing arts theatre, 10,000 square-foot exhibit hall and a 46,000-square-foot special events center.

Taliaferro Sports and Entertainment Complex in Virginia

Salem, VA

The Taliaferro Sports and Entertainment Complex offers a diverse group of facilities, including the Salem Civic Center, perfect for any type of indoor sporting event. Located approximately one mile southeast of downtown Salem, the Salem Civic Center consists of an indoor Virginia’s Blue Ridge Sports arena with a 22,000-square-foot floor, seating for 7,000, an annex of 10,000 square feet and various meeting spaces.

College of William and Mary in Virginia

College of William and Mary

Williamsburg, VA

College of William and Mary has multiple indoor sporting venues perfect for tournaments and events. Kaplan Arena is the home of varsity basketball, volleyball and gymnastics with a capacity that can be expanded to 11,300. McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center features six indoor tennis courts using the GreenSet GrandPrix Surface.
